Fjällräven turned 50 in 2010 and are launching a limited edition of their bestseller Kånken. The Anniversary Edition of this legendary daypack, made of Vinylon F, is equipped with a leather label and an individual serial number on the inside. Every model carries a personal message on the inside label by the company founder Åke Nordin. This Kanken is a must-have item for real trendsetters and devoted fox fans of the Swedish brand. Every pack is unique!
For 50 years now, Swedish outdoor specialist Fjällräven has been producing functional products that are designed to last. On this anniversary a limited edition of the legendary Kånken and Kånken Mini and we are taking delivery of these special bags in August 2010.
The bags will be produced only in anniversary year 2010 in a limited number and are therefore expected to become highly popular and are already selling. The handy daypack symbolises the 50 years of outdoor experience and spirit of the Swedish brand: high functionality, with a distinctive design and fabrics that will stand the test of time. The Kånken was originally developed in 1978 to protect school children’s backs. Since then, the unique look has achieved cult status with more than three million packs sold worldwide. Designed for daily use, the daypack can be seen in 39 colours from New York to Tokyo, Berlin,Sydney, London,Paris and cities and villages around the world.
High quality manufacturing and the legendary Vinylon F fabric are the keys to Kånken’s success. The light but extremely durable material swells like a natural fibre, thus making the weave more dense when it’s raining. This gives the fabric waterproof qualities by construction and makes the Kånken ready to be used for the next 50 years!

Warm Yellow to Israel, New York, London and Thailand for the Fjallraven Kanken Bag
Kanken followers are rushing to get their bags in the sale. The Fjallraven laptop 15" has gone very well. I wonder if this has anything to do with the iPad? There seems to be a flurry for the States. We can't yet get the iPad in England. Warm yellow seems to now be taking off. Better get them packed and off today. I had the afternoon off yesterday with my daughter. Took two boxes of goodies to Age Concern. Lots of things I do not have time to take to a car boot or sell on-line. But they should make some money for older people - we went round the charity shops which are very good in Kendal. Nothing this time, but it is fun and the shops are getting better. Vintage is in!

Last day of the sale for the Fjallraven Kanken. I took mine walking yesterday (ox red) in the Lake District. We have had new customers this weekend from Israeal, LA, Brighton, New York and starting to get more customers from Australia and Canada. We are very busy today after the bank holiday and I have two boxes for the charity shops - going to go round them this afternoon with my daughter in our nearest town. She is getting the charity / vintage bug. Great!
